Bloggers I love

I know I'm being a bit of a sheep doing this post but following recent events in the blogging community I feel like everyone should spread the love!
Here are SOME of my favourite bloggers

I've been reading this blog for ages and Kayleigh is actually the reason I started blogging. She has beautiful photos and great content. I always am really interested in what she thinks of a product even if I wouldn't use them myself. She's also one of the nicest girls I've spoken to.

Em is another blogger that inspired me to write my own blog. I love all her posts especially the travel ones. She really makes you explore the world through her eyes. Its like reading a great travel guide. Im also insanely jealous of her body but she also does fitness posts so I can learn her tips (if I wasn't so lazy and liked pizza). She's also lovely to talk to, even if she is tweeting while sunbathing on a beach! Check out her online shop LVNDR which does lovely afordable jewellery

I am obsessed with Georginas blog. It filled with fashion, beauty and lifestyle posts. I especially love her lifestyle posts which vary from places she's eaten to job search stuff. I met Georgina earlier this year and we danced to Beyonce Crazy in Love after far too much prosecco and pizza!

Patricia is a fashion blogger with incredible style. Her photos look amazing and she always chooses lovely outifts. It does help that she's absolutely gorgeous aswell! I have bought a few things after seeing her wear it!

There you have it. Some of my favourite bloggers. I felt the need to share some love and Id advise you guys to do the same. You could be making a fellow bloggers day :)

Cookie Dough Pizza and Malteser Brownies!

Hello my lovelies, I know i've been a terrible blogger recently. With this new job I have to take my laptop in and leave it in the office to I barely have time to write anything up!

This weekend my best friend had a BBQ and I was in charge of baking. So I decided to make Cookie Dough Pizza and Malteser Brownies.

Lets start with my Cookie D'oh Pizza

150g Plain Flour
100g Caster Sugar
100g Brown Sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp of baking powder
125g butter
A couple of drops of vanilla essence
A packet of chocolate chips (white and milk)

1. Preheat the oven to around 180c
2. Melt butter and mix in both sugars til it makes a paste
3. Add the egg, couple of drops of vanilla essence, baking powder and flour, then mix
4. Add 3/4 of both packets of your chocolate chips and mix until its a dough

Try not to eat the batter!
5. Put dough into a cake tin and smooth over. Put into the oven for about 17mins
6. Take the cookie dough out and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top. Then place back for 3 mins.
7. Once you take it out wait for it to cool a bit and then cut. It tastes better warm!

Ready for more sweet goodness?!

Malteser Brownies

150g butter
175g dark chocolate
225g sugar
2 eggs
150g self raising flour
150g Maltesers

1. Preheat oven to around 180c
2. Melt chocolate and butter together in a bowl
3. Then add sugar, eggs and flour and mix
4. Then add the maltesers and pour into your tin

5. Bake for around 15 mins. To check if its cooked place a knife in the middle. If it comes out clean its done!

What I've Been Up To- One

Hey guys. I'm trying to bring the lifestyle element back to my blog so I thought I'd add a series about some of the things I've been up to recently!

A couple of weeks ago we travelled down to Portsmouth for Teddy's Sister-in-laws 30th Birthday. It was 50s themed! I'll admit, I'm quite terrible at dressing up for themes so I opted for my trustee Elvis t-shirt and a polka dot skirt. The boys bought brillcream and had fun slicking their hair back. Teddy and his mum were in charge of food and made some amazing american themed food. There's a reason why I put on so much weight recently! The cake was sci-fi themed too! It had a tardis, a GoT dragon, and I think a hobbit hiding somewhere!

I also got a shiny new job this week! I am now an Office Assistant for the BAU Foundation. They basically are a trust to make schools better. I have the office to myself to its great for working while belting out some Total Eclipse of the Heart.

My lonely office
I've also decided to go to more group exercises instead of working out at home. My last post described why I don't really enjoy going to the gym so I wont go over that again. I can tell you my local gyms timetable off by heart the way I study it for my next class at work!

Other stuff I've been loving:

1. Body Shops Vitamin E overnight serum oil. This is brilliant. I won't go into too much detail as I really want to write a post about it. But I am loving it so far
2. Elderflower and Green Tea drink. The shop by my work sells this and it tastes divine. I've had one everyday this week!
3. Strawberry and Cream Tart. I had a terrible first day at work and Teddy surprised me with this tart. It was so tasty, I thought screw the diet for a day!
4. Grapefruit and Pink Lemonade. Pink Lemonade always cheers me up, i'm not sure if its the taste or the fact that its pink! I went to the doctors last week and they said I had problems with my liver and they're gonna keep an eye on it (stupid medication making me more sick) So I researched that grapefruit is good for cleansing your liver as well as aiding weight loss! GET IN!!

What is everyone up to this weekend. It's a bank holiday in the UK so that's three days off work! My best friend is having a BBQ and I'm in charge of baking so watch out for those recipes ;)
What are you guys up to this weekend?

Lots of love

Why the Gym Is Not For Me

If you guys follow my twitter/instagram (you totally should, im amazing ;)) you'll know that I am always talking/complaining about my workouts but the truth is I never go to the gym.

When I first put on all that steroids weight, my doctor signed a form saying I could go for free. So out shopping I went to get the nicest workout clothes I could find in order to look and start to feel great. When I got to the gym and started to use all the equipment I just felt 'meh'. I had no motivation to continue, I just felt like I was going through the motions. Then I saw the zumba class looking like they were having fun and sweating heaps at the same time. That's where my love for group classes began.

I have done: yoga, bikram yoga, zumba, fab abs, body pump, taebo and ones that don't even have names. There's something about having people group classes that makes me want to work harder and not give up. Maybe it's because I know everyone else is going through the same pain as I am! But I stopped relying on student loans and entered the world of unemployment and started using fitness DVDs and going for runs.

Last Saturday, Teddy went to the gym and I followed behind and geared up to do my first Fab Abs lesson. Finally a better excuse to show off my Victoria Secret gym bra!! It was such hard work. I don't have the strongest set thighs and I feel most abs exercises use them, so I was in alot of pain during. In the classes I was complaining to a girl I met that my abs didn't feel any struggle and thought it was a crap class... Until the next day. I couldn't laugh, or brush my hair but I knew I had to go back for more. So i've booked to go three times a week until my holiday. I WILL be bikini ready for Crete :)

Are you guys gym people or group exercise people? Has anyone tried a group exercise they think i'll like? Comment below as usual lovelies :)

St Ives- Apricot Blemish Control Scrub

I think I was 13 when I realised I should probably grow up and start washing my face with something other than water. Luckily I found St Ives - Apricot Scrub. As I grew up I changed my routine and bought new facial washes, but always came back to St Ives travel size scrub when I went on holiday. It was only because Teddy said 'wow your face looks clear' (he's a charmer) I realised I should go back to my original and the best!

If you've read my blog before you'll know that I suffer from oily skin so I tend to buy products that prevent that horrid shine. Also, since I've been taking biotin for my hair growth I've been prone to a lot of breakouts by my chin. I opted for the Blemish Control scrub as they also do scrubs for fresh skin, timeless skin and sensitive skin.

The granules are quite big and harsh for exfoliating your skin. I wouldn't recommend if you have thin or older skin but I do feel like my face is alot smoother than when I use a less abrasive scrub.

I would tell anyone that wants a cheap face scrub and that wants clear, smooth skin should get this. I found great results as soon as my face dried!

Have you guys used this before? What were your thoughts? Comment below

Peanut Butter and Banana Cookies

Hello my lovelies, I am in a good mood today because I have a new job! Wheyyy! And its even linked to my degree! Who would have thought it?

I haven't done a baking post in so long on here so I mixed together three of my favorite things: Bananas, Peanut butter and Cookies. My best friend loves peanut butter more than me, so I had to make her a treat. Read on for my recipe!

You will need:

3/4 bananas
130g Peanut Butter
70g Dark Brown Soft Sugar
100g Caster Sugar
2tsp Vanilla Extract
165g plain flour
1tsp Baking Powder

Do not mock my sainsburys basic peanut butter! Cheap...Tasty...GOOD!

I'm actually terrible at following/writing instructions, so I will try my hardest not to write 'bung it all in a bowl and mix'

1. Mash the bananas and mix with peanut butter and mix in a bowl

2. Then add both sugars and vanilla extract and continue mixing

3 Then add baking powder and flour and mix until its almost a dough

4. Place in the fridge for about 45mins

5. Then you can make it into little balls on a greased baking tray

I used the spray oil to grease this tray
6. Stick in the oven for about 12mins at 200c.
7. To see if it's done I tend to put a knife in it to see if it comes out clear

As you can see, they look really really browned which is due to the brown sugar. Its also why its chewy in the middle and hard on the outside.

I promise my next baking post will not have banana in it! Are you guys going to try it? Let me know if you want me to bake anything.. I love a challenge

There's just over a week left in my giveaway! You can enter [HERE]

Where Do I Belong in the Blogging Community?

Hello lovelies, bit of a different post today.

Sometimes, I lack confidence in myself. Recently, its been happening quite often as I've had such bad luck. It's had me wondering where I belong in the Blogging World.

I look at my favourite blogs, and I just think to myself 'Mine will never be like that!'.
I do sit there and wish I had long luscious  blonde hair. I do wish everything in my room was white so I could take awesome photos. I do wish I had the bloggers camera of choice to make my photos have that cool edge. And I do wish I had the courage/talent to take great OOTD photos.

But then I somehow gain some confidence. I realise, everybody is different meaning every blog should be different. I don't want to a carbon copy of another popular blog. I think my blog shows off my personality (yes that means I am obsessed with Barbie pink and stars). Blogging should be fun, and not a competition or bitchy. Page views and followers do not define how good your blog is or how great you are.

On that note... As I am close to 200 BL followers, I want to say thank you to all who read my ramblings and comment. They mean the world to me and really cheer me up. I may not have 1000s of followers, but I get excited that I have each and every single one of you.

Much Ado About Nothing at The Globe Theatre

Hello loves! Last week Teddy took me to see my favourite Shakespeare play Much Ado About Nothing at the Globe. Much Ado has been my favourite play since I studied it in school. I suppose it helps that I got an A in that exam.

Much Ado is one of Shakespeare's comedies, but instead of boring you with the synopis of the play I'm gonna link you to the wikipedia site [HERE]

From my instagram Starla_Says

The Globe is beautiful. It's circular (hence the name) and has a place where people can stand and watch the play. There aren't any restricted views here, which you can get in most theatres  and then you regret buying the ticket! It also has an open top roof so you get all natural lighting (and sounds)

The play was so funny and amazing. The characters were played so well, and had great comedic timing. Even when things went wrong on stage (the washing line collapsing and bringing all the clothes down) they still continued to finish the play professionally.

I really want to see another play here, especially in the summer so it's sunny and warm.

Have any of you guys been? What would you recommend me to watch?
Also, have you entered my giveaway...its looking a little lonely ;)

What's in my Tea Cupboard

I think in every top five I've done on this blog, I've mentioned herbal tea. I can't help it, i'm obsessed. I think it started when my mum used to give me fresh mint tea from her mint tree in the garden. When I moved into my new flat I pleaded with Teddy to have my own tea cupboard in the kitchen and its my favourite part of the flat.

I tend to drink these whenever, but have split them into categories of uses that I think is best for them: Best for Calming, Best for Bloating, Best for when you feel unwell

Best for Calming
Camomile and Spearmint
Camomile and Vanilla

As you can see, this group is heavy on the camomile. That's because camomile is great for soothing and calming you down which I need.

Best for Bloating
Green Tea with Mango and Passionfruit
Green Tea and Caramelised Apple

Green tea is a bloated persons saviour. I've written about my love for Green Tea before. I tend to have a cup in the morning and another before bed. I've noticed since doing that my stomach looks alot smaller after meals

Best for When You Feel Unwell
Lemon and Ginger
Camomile and honey
Camomile with lemon balm and manuka honey

I love a hot drink when I'm not feeling well, I have the worst immune system in the world. Lemon, Ginger and Honey all help to boost your immune system. Drinking it in a hot drink is much better and tastier than eating a glove of garlic believe me!!

So that's all the teas in my cupboard. I definitely want to try some new ones with different benefits. What would you guys suggest?

My Graze Box

Hey guys happy May! This month I'm trying to give you more lifestyle posts recently as there's so much change and craziness in my life right now I need to tell you. So I'll start off simple and talk about my Graze box this week

I've been getting Graze boxes for around 8 months now and I'm obsessed. Basically they're a box that contains four small healthy snacks. I'm always hungry yet always dieting with obviously doesn't go together, so these little snack boxes are great. I tend to eat them when I get peckish at work or when I just get home and Teddy hasn't made dinner yet :p

This weeks box included: Smoky BBQ Corn, Banana Split, Toffee Apple and Little Figgy Went to Market.

Smoky BBQ Corn is smoked cashews and jumbo corn. Its pretty new to the Graze range but slowly becoming one of my favourites

Banana Split is bananas, fudge, honey almond silvers and pumpkin seeds. I'm not a fan of almonds but everything else is YUM. The banana is chewy which I love because it still tastes fresh!

Toffee apple is apple slices with a toffee sauce. Its simple, its tasty, its 70cals

Little Figgy Went to Market has apple, cranberries and diced figs. This is another quick sweet treat at only 95 calories. It also counts as one portion of your 5 a day which is amazing!

You get free codes with Graze boxes. So if you'd like to try it my code is MARIAJ8RB, just go to and follow the instructions and enjoy your free box!
